NIO is the most successful electric vehicle startup its age so far. It has sold more than 50,000 vehicles and, ranked by plugin vehicle sales in the first half of 2020, it’s the 20th best selling brand in the world.

While the NIO ES8 more than carries its weight in its large, expensive vehicle class, the NIO ES6 is the more mass market vehicle that has NIO ranking so well in terms of overall unit sales. In the first half of the year, the ES6 accounted for 11,711 of NIO’s 14,169 sales, almost making it one of the 5 best selling electric vehicles in China.

That total also made the ES6 the 19th best selling plugin vehicle in the world in the first half of 2020, and the 16th best selling pure electric vehicle.

Deliveries of the ES6 started just in the middle of 2019.

The ES6 was the 8th best selling plugin vehicle and 7th best selling fully electric vehicle in China in June 2020, with 2,476 sales.

In the first half of 2020, the ES6 was the 7th best selling plugin vehicle and 6th best selling fully electric vehicle in China, with 11,711 sales.

As noted at the top, the ES6 was the 19th best selling plugin vehicle in the world in the first half of 2020, and the 16th best selling pure electric vehicle.
